Where else can you here traditional Italian songs like "Torna a Surriento", "O Sole Mio", and "La Donna È Mobile"; and continue with traditional Mexican Mariachi music like "Jalisco", "Cielito Lindo" and "Malagueña Salerosa"; and then follow with caribbean and Latin music like "Guantanamera" (Cuban), "En mi Viejo San Juan" (Puerto Rico), and "Girl from Ipanema" (Brazil); and finish with flamenco and Spain with "Viva España" and "Tangillos de Cadiz", bulerias, "Baboleo" (GipsyKings), all from just two musicians????

Jose Velez and Luis Alfredo have been playing together for nearly 20 years. They began their long musical friendship as part of the Latin American Group Sol Latino, while still college students at UCF. Jose Velez is an excellent tenor and guitar player. He has a Music Degree from the University of Central Florida, where he won various scholarships and vocal competitions under the guidance of famous teacher Louis Roney.

 

 
Duo's History

Luis Alfredo Garcia (Puerto Rico) and Jose Fernando Velez (Colombia) have been performing together in Central Florida for nearly 20 years. They began their long musical friendship while young college students at the University of Central Florida. 


Luis Alfredo is a classical and flamenco guitarist with formal training at the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico and the University of Central Florida. Additionally, Luis has also been fortunate to received flamenco guitar lessons from world renowned Spanish (Andalusian) guitarist Juan Serrano.  Jose Fernando is an excellent tenor and rhythm guitarist with a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Central Florida. During his college years, he won various scholarships and vocal competitions under the guidance of famous teacher Louis Roney.
Currently, Luis and Jose are performing every weekend at Mi Tomatina Paella Bar Restaurant in Winter Park.  They are also performing once a month at Yalaha Bakary usually the first or third saturday of the month. Their music is sophisticated, colorful, and full of energy. Therefore, don't expect just background music. This is a show you don't want to miss!
